Government buildings
A follow on to my shot of government buildings from last week. Here you can see the full extent to the offices our little Bertie Ahern and his buddies get when we elect them to run our country.
Paddys Day Tangoed
Ok so ive missed a few days reasons being firstly Saint Patricks day, then on saturday Ireland winning the triple crown in the 6 Nations rugby tournament, and finally resting a hangover on Sunday.
I did promise to have a picture from Paddys day up online and I failed, mainly because it was cold, windy, rainy, hail stoney (if there is such a thing), and downright lousy, but I did take this picture which if I had not brought it into photoshop would have saddened everyone who visits the site. So I tangoed the image.
Big assembly for the Big Wheel
Another shot I took yesterday of the Saint Patricks day fun fair at merrion square in Dublin. This shot show the big wheel that they have placed in the middle of the road been assembled.
When you see how quick they can put these things up is it any wonder you dont find me ever on them.
So tomorrow is Saint Patricks day and I plan on taking it handy, although that may change tomorrow morning and I may end up in Bray for our very own Parade. If I do rest assured I will post something up.
Closed
Well Saint Patrick is coming to town, and the streets are closing down. Outside the Dail (where are government reside) a funfair is been put together as I type this.
I went down and had the fortuate experience of seeing carnival rides half assembled, such as a big wheel, a merry go round and one of those rides that spins quickly while you stand up against the walls.
I thought this image really captured the moment as nothing was ready so obviously the fun fair is “closed”
On a side note I have made plenty of changes over the past 24 hours, which im sure are plain to see. One major alteration is now you can see 5 images on the main page, info for all shots as well as all the other stuff that has been there all along. I have also taken the dive in “Tagging” all my images with technorati, anyone with more information on how tagging works best please send me a link or something, also what plugins do people use with movabletype etc.
More from the Patricks day celebrations tomorrow.
Statue
This is a photo I took the other night at the Taoiseachs office (Bertie Ahern). His office is much much larger then mine and also has these fantastic statues around the roof. This one grabbed my attention with Paula expecting and everything this statue seems to be of a woman breast feeding her baby. Coincidence or my mind attracting to me to such images, who knows?
Library
This is a shot I took while waiting on the number 145 bus to take me home. It was nice to be standing there while there was still a bit of light available, although it was running out fast. Another nice thing was that after the terrible weather we have been having recently, I managed to take this picture while the rain subsided.
On another note I plan on making numerous changes to the site over the next week. The Blog awards really have rejuvenated my interest in blogging and I feel its time my site changed a bit.
First changes should be visible now such as links to irishblogs.ie and Irishblogs.info, my second change would be that my info is contained under the main image as well as in comments. Please let me know what you think and let me know of anything you would like to change.
Irish blog awards
What a great night, Paula and myself went to the first Irish Blog awards last night and congatulations to all the winners. I want to congratulate Donncha from inphotos.org who won the Best Irish Photoblog category.
Also a big up to Damien who organised the event and did a great job of it too.
Hopefully we will see more folk there next year but it was great to finally meet some people whos work I have admired over the years like caitriona who page has always been linked from here since mcawilliams first came online.
I also have to say thanks to Mr O Shea for his kind words before announcing the photoblog nominees.
Also before people ask, no my canon g6 is not broken this picture is the first time ive used my sony k750i camera phone and I have to say I am pleasantly suprised with the results.
Ste
Found this image the other day and forgot that I had taken it. Probably one of the best candid shots ive taken so far.
Hopefully tomorrow I shall have some more good candid shots from the First ever Irish blog awards. I will keep you updated.
