Poulanass Waterfall

Day 3 was spent down in the amusements on the Bray Seafront. So I did not take any pictures down there although my self and Szlampy spent some time shooting zombies.

Oyvind and Anna went climbing up Bray Head and took some great pictures there check out Anna’s page for some of those over the next few days.

The 2 people who I cannot link Paula and Dolly went walking around Bray town and bought some books.

So I have no real images from this day as it was a very relaxing day so here is the waterfall that ruined so many other good images for me on Friday called the Poulanass Waterfall.

Pine Cone in the water

So day two of the magical tour of Dublin/Wicklow for my foreign friends. Today we went to Glendalough, a favourite haunt of mine. And I do believe the walk around the lakes and the monastic city went down well with my traveling companions. I took a heck of a lot of pictures but they all look the same as photos I have put up here before.

One place I had never brought the camera to was the Poulanass waterfall on the left hand side very close to the upper lake. I took some pictures there and then decided to try a 2 second exposure, I also brought the exposure compensation down so I would not to get to many highlights.

Stupidly I forgot to reset it and all images following are now underexposed, what a tool!

Anyhow this is a washed up pine cone found at the edge of the upper lake, but where did it originate from, since there are no trees anywhere close to where I was standing. So I will leave you with that thought, the mystery of the pine cone.

Guinness Storehouse

First day of tourists and the tourist attractions that cost a fortune to enter. This shot came from the Guinness Storehouse, with has a fantastic layout and the presentations are amazing. But it cost 14 euro which to be honest I think is a bit much considering you get a little booklet and a free pint of the black stuff up in the Gravity Bar.

More images to come.

Work Phone

I love putting up images that are so ordinary, but have great meaning to me.

I will not have to look at this phone on Thursday or Friday as I am off work those 2 days, oh yes a nice long weekend for me. I have some mates coming over from abroad for the weekend so I will probably be taking in some of the tourist venues that Irish people generally don’t go to although my old haunt Glendalough may be a spot we will venture down to.

So in theory I should have plenty of pictures to show from the next few days.

Coming out of the fog

Posted by McAWilliams under Dublin

On my way into work this morning while sitting on the bus, you could see the closer I got to Dublin a fog descending on the city. It was only when I got off from the warmth of the bus I realised just how cold this fog was.

It also did some serious damage on the road up from Carlow which I have been on many many times. A tanker overturned in the tunnel at the end of the M7 and due to the fog cars did not see this until it was too late. In total around 40 cars were involved in collisions and 30 people were brought to Naas hospital.

For any international readers the Irish are atrocious when it comes to any other type of weather other then rain and the very occasional bit of sun, you wouldwant to see the drivers if there is a bit of snow!

Group of Ladybirds

Well Carlow really brought a wealth of nature for me to photograph, yesterdays Bumble Bee and today some ladybirds, well a load of them to be exact.

Ladybirds for me a fairly rare to see and normally if you do see one you may find another one or two nearby. Well I had never witnessed such an amount of ladybirds before in my 34 years on this planet, shrubs were literally moving with the hundreds that occupied my parents front garden.

According to my father, when I showed them all to him, this is a sign of a really hot summer to come, well here is hoping.
