Maritime Festival Kaskelot tall ship

I have been a very bad blogger, but I hope you will understand this build even though it looks like being completed next week has actually taken a bit out of me, every evening I come home to see more and more work done, but this also allows the perfectionist in me to find faults, take the floor being a prime example, one of the window frames was not level, radiator was going onto the wrong wall etc etc.

Thankfully Park Avenue Conservatories are proving to be fantastic, they take everything I have said and fixed it as soon as they can.

Today is their 10th day on the job and to hear that in 7 working days they should be complete is so reassuring, so many doubters had said “ah sure they say 4 weeks, it will be at least 8″ how wrong were they.

Anyhow enough about my trials and tribulations, here is another shot from the Maritime festival since I have not been taking any pictures of late, this time of the Kaskelot tall ship from Bristol.

build day 3 and 4.

...

Why have we been told this build will take 4 weeks here are pictures from the evenings of day 3 and 4 of the build of the sunroom. So on day three the whole floor base was laid and leveled.

Then they took a break over the weekend and came back today and built up the walls.

But alas they ran into a problem, over the weekend we realised that the floor base is too high, we had asked for it to be the same level as the concrete base of the house but they leveled it the level of our floor, so a bit of kangoing and releveling will be happening tomorrow.

When your life is turned upside down.

...

Well the next 4 weeks I am hoping are going to be very exciting for us, we have decided at last to get that sunroom we have been wanting for years, and yesterday work began with a big 2 foot deep trench being dug for foundations, and today the cement was poured, all systems go!

The garden beforehand

This is a picture of how the garden looked beforehand.

day 2 in the big brother house

Here is how it looks on day 2, yes the garden has changed quite a bit, gone is the grass and the room to move about, but hopefully that wont be the case for too long, thankfully I never did anything with the garden, so no damage done, and it will motivate me to landscape it properly once the work is complete.

I will keep you all updated with how the build continues, as I am sure you all really want to see it, over the next few posts.

Porthole on board the Jeanie Johnston

Apologies for the lack of posting the past few days but all hell has broken loose at home, more on that later on this evening.

Here is another shot from the Toejam Photocamp meet up last weekend at the maritime festival. On board the Jeanie Johnston they have created a museum down in the hull and this shot was taken while walking down to it, looking out through a porthole, I was thrilled to see that I had managed to get some of the bunting through it.
