Why have we been told this build will take 4 weeks here are pictures from the evenings of day 3 and 4 of the build of the sunroom. So on day three the whole floor base was laid and leveled.
Then they took a break over the weekend and came back today and built up the walls.
But alas they ran into a problem, over the weekend we realised that the floor base is too high, we had asked for it to be the same level as the concrete base of the house but they leveled it the level of our floor, so a bit of kangoing and releveling will be happening tomorrow.

Hmmm… what did they think? That you wanted a concrete floor? Very chic… Best of luck!
Ah John.. if you were any kind of man you’d be building this yourself!
Well floor got taken out and relaid. Happy days.
Ryan - trust me the thought did enter my mind after building a conservatory with Paulas dad before helping him gut and fit a kitchen etc, I could have saved thousands, difference being I would still be digging out the trench and may have it finished by December.
December? That’s optimistic of you mate…
builders are evil and may well be possessed by devils
:) my husband once spent a year or more renovating a house, he nealy went mad - either the builders went awol, or he tried to do it himself and nearly wrecked the place, or they’d run into a snag or on one memorble occasion….they collapsed an entire inner wall. Best of luck, hang on in there and withold tea and biccies til they’re finished
Can’t wait to see the finished effect.
Ryan- less of that talk of been a man and him doing it himself. There’s a patio out the back i’ve been waiting months to get started..ahem!
Yes I am excited and over eighteen! Please rush me large, glossy colour copies of you stumbling around the attic in your nightie, spanner in hand (!) as you manfully wrestle with a leek or courgette or whatever it was.
I cannot WAIT!
: )
I should explain what Downsdad is on about here, as part of the build we decided to get a new gas boiler since the old one was going to get moved anyhow, why not get a better one!
So mr gas man was out doing the install and took away a little header tank we had in the attic, doing nothing at all I found out. This meant a new join had to be made on the mains water pipe in the attic and it decided to leak water the other night. I was awoken at 4.30 for some weird reason with a drip drip drip sound and walked out into the landing and squelsh! so on with dressing gown, out I went to the shed to get a wrench and vice gips and up to the attic i went to attempt to tighten the leaky joint.
I could not stop it but I did reduce the drip drip to a drip……………drip and mr gas man came out that morning and fixed it properly. No damage done but yesterday I was knackered in work and I explained what had happened to Downsdad, rest assured their shall be no up dressing gown shots placed on this blog!
I am disappointed Mr McAWilliams. Disappointed.
