"Dandelion clock" is the formal name. I've photographed a few myself. Great job on this one. I like the unique composition, and you nailed the focus and exposure. The background of green grass compliments the dandelion well, also.

Yep they are amazing to look at but when you have a grass garden and they take over it is a bit unsightly, particularly when the seed heads are naked without their fluffy white seeds.

How can you dislike something that’s evolved so perfectly for its environment and yet is like absolutely nothing else. It’s almost as varied as a spawn – tadpole – frog. Alan Titchmarsh, bless the little git, said one thing of relevance once. ‘There are no weedsd, only misplaced plants.’ I can’t stand that gardening ad that’s on at the minute for some weedkiller. It paints the poor old piss-the-bed as a right little monster. But in reality its seeds hang on the air so perfectly that you can imagine God’s angels just blowing it along. Ok, so I’m wittering now, but the real point is: Death to all admen! Oh, and nice photo too btw.

The fact Becca blows the seed heads of them is probably the reason you have so many in your garden each year. I love these things…

It does look like some scientific thing, doesn’t it? I have no idea what, a ball of electrons or somthing . I love the white and green. I miss the length of the stalk though, I was expecting it when I saw the title first. I have no idea why – perhaps because of when I think of them I think of holding them up and blowing them, just like Rebecca!

I absolutely love this picture and I love these plants. Don’t know why, it’s just that I do. But I can tell you, why I love the picture… The little sharp space with the rest blurry is a great idea. Absolutely lovely.
