Trinity College XXVI Door

Trinity College in dublin is a fantastic place to go to take pictures, the architecture around the grounds is outstanding and varies around every corner.

Obviously this door has gone through a good bit of post processing but I do love the way it looks now.

Well it high time I put another image up, this weekend another photobloggers walk is planned, the success of the pre blogawards photowalk meant it was only a matter of time before we all decided to meet again. Everyone is welcome and you dont even have to be a photoblogger, or have expensive gear like Ryan or Claire to come along (yes I am jealous), heck even a camera phone will do Rick. Anyhow if you are interested head over to the Ring Leader Red Mums site and sign yourself up if anything its a great way to meet fellow bloggers and have a bit of craic.

This was one of the few images I took while out on that first walk.

Camden Market

Look at me I am posting up a new picture, I aint gonna apologise for not having an image up for ages but the past 2 weeks have been very very hectic for me. All will be revealed at the Irish Blog Awards on Saturday. Last year I mentioned to Damien that if he ever needed a hand with the awards, give me a shout, thankfully he did and my work is now complete, hopefully it took some of the pressure of him although I don’t think he is the type to relax.

So the camera will now make its appearance out of the camera bag again and posting should resume to some sort of normality very soon.

In other news, I would like to thank who ever the judges for the photoblog category are, McAWilliams has made the finalist list in the photoblog category, I would also like to thank the sponsors of the category too, and wish the 10 other photoblogs the best of luck.

The list contains some of the old hand photoblogs out there and some new ones too, but there are also some blogs which did not make it, like Catriona.net (been in the finals every year up to now) and headphoneland (last years winner) and many others, which have come as a suprise.

Anyhow roll on Saturday night, I cant wait to see some familiar faces and I am also looking forward to seeing some new ones too.

Merrion Square Graffiti Benches

Posted by McAWilliams under Dublin, Graffiti
My marvelous first thumbnail

How nice it was to be out and about with no rain falling on my head the other day. I decided to venture down to Merrion Square to see if there were any new flowers starting to shoot up, even though spring aint arrived really yet. I did stop though to take a shot of these 2 benches destroyed by graffiti. As I have said in the past some graffiti is very artistic this on the other hand is plain old vandalism.

I desaturated the shot quite a bit and gave it a good bit of contrast hopefully to give the impression of the stark reality of vandalism.

Ducks spare a thought for them.

I love ducks, especially the aromatic ones, whoops, no they make great subjects to photograph since you can get so close to them. But on my way into work this morning I could not help but feel sorry for these guys they were freezing, and as the day went on it got colder, now there is a risk of snow for tomorrow.

How do these guys survive.

Well how interesting is this shot, amazing aint it. Not having my camera for the past few weeks is making it hard for me to see things like I had been. Take this image something about the black paving stones and the lone light in them grabbed my attention, normally I would have a reason for taking the shot but this time it was just I that I liked it….

On another note McAWilliams has been nominated for the Photoblog category and Best Blog category of the Irish Blog Awards Many thanks to anyone who nominated me, and best of luck to all those nominated, rool on March 1st.
