Irish Blog Awards 2008
Well what will follow for the next few days will be some images from the 3rd annual Irish Blog Awards. A great night was had by all from what I can gather on sites I have been to today. Damien as usual did a fantastic job and a big up to all the sponsors who once again have made this happen.
The Photowalk was a great success, and a big thank you goesout to Redmum for organising that.
McAWilliams.com did not win, but Claire from Gingerpixel was my tip for the win and I was thrilled to hear her name called out.
Once again the community feel was in full flow, and it was great to meet up with Ryan, Catriona, Twenty, Fustar, Phil, Raptureponies and many others again.
On another note it was also great to see so many of my 4nineĀ£’er friends at the awards, many of whom had never been before. I hope the blogosphere made you realise just what it is that we love about blogging.
Talking about what we love about blogging brings me to Sunday morning where the interview on RTE radio went according to plan, I took it easy on the gargle so did not have a hangover but I was shitting it in the studio. Fiona handled the interview really well while I shook my water all over the place, but it was great fun been on the other side of the microphone for once, all thanks to my next paragraph.
Mr Rick O Shea, it was himself that put me forward for the interview, but once again he did a great job of mc’ing on the night and I was touched to see him get so emotional when he won the best pop culture award. I know how much blogging means to him, I mean he eats sleeps and drinks blogs except when he is on air (thats facebook time), so it was great to see him start crying, that may well be tomorrows picture.

Woo what a night, great night i should say. It was so great meeting you and Paula, unfortunately i didn’t get chatting loads to Paula, but i will link in with her next time i’m in Dublin. Hugs

Yay! There’s my WWMD sticker!
McAWilliams says:
Rick me threaten you, never!
Sandy, as you know we love meeting both yourself and Ryan at the awards, and we do mean it don’t leave it untill next year to meet again.
Keith welcome to the blog. I think this was the only WWMD photo I got, but to be honest this guy has appeared in so many pictures from the night itself, I think if there was an award for who got photographed the most he would win, fair play to him for posing for me, although I never got his name or introduced myself, lousy blogger am I.
Keith Gaughan says:
I was pretty sure he’s one of Ken McGuire buddies and a bit of investigation reveals that he’s Ross Costigan of kilkennymusic.com. I think the KKM crowd as a whole were trying to make as much of an impression as they could. They definitely succeeded!
Ross says:
Awh wow, what an awesome shot!
I don’t remember this at all!?
