Madeleine Mc Cann’s Disappearance
Due to an offensive comment recieved yesterday I have decided to close the comments for this entry.
This is a photoblog entry with a difference, and one I hope fellow photobloggers may take up. The reason I feel this should happen is because as bloggers and even more importantly photo bloggers we attract views on a daily basis from all around the world, which is exactly what the Mc Cann family need right now.
For those that are unaware of the story, I have taken this quote from True Crime Blog UK, where it was first posted.
Kate and Gerry McCann from Leicestershire took their 4-year-old daughter Madeleine (pictured) with them on holiday to Portugal. The family were staying at the Mark Warner Ocean Club Summer Beach Resort in Praia da Luz on the Algarve.
On the 3rd May 2007 Kate and Gerry went for a meal at a tapas restaurant, checking on Madeleine in their nearby apartment every half hour or so. When they returned at around 9:45pm GMT, a window was open and Madeleine was gone. Staff and guests searched the holiday complex into the early hours of the morning, but failed to find the missing toddler.
So 2 weeks on nothing more has really come from the police investigation in Portugal, or at least under Portuguese law they cannot disclose much, so the family have appealed for people to spread the word across the globe. One of the other reasons why photoblogs may be of help is due to the fact that, if she was abducted, one thing the abductor would be unable to change would be Madeleines distinctive right eye, where the pupil runs into the blue-green iris.
This quote from sky news
It is this distinguishing mark that will identify Madeleine to those on the lookout for her, according to aunt and uncle John and Diane McCann.

The McCann family have launched their own website,
It contains details of how to contribute to the fighting fund they have set up.

I am not going to post any photos over the weekend possibly even longer to ensure that people visiting see this message, and if you are a fellow photoblogger or blogger of any description, I urge you to please post something like I have to get the message out there (I do know pleanty have already), I fluctuate between 58 and 68 readers but I do know some of the people visiting attract a much larger readership, well into the hundreds, you are the people this family need at the moment for help.

I feel deeply for the mc cann’s i have been keeping up to date with the search for madeleine through sky news were they had a slot all day and night dedected to the case but now i find it is not there any more and i feel worried does this mean the media are starting to play down the case if so this is very sad. madeleine should be on are tv screans every day, not every one has a computer or use of the internet so if they are not being reminded of her people will forget and stop looking for her . i hope she is found safe and well and soon . i pray to st jude for her safe return and for her mum and dad to be given the strenght to keep going .

very sad that a little girl should be taken like this, but the parents should have never left them alone, let this be a lesson to all parents.
claire waters says:
No innocent child, free of sin, deserves the unknown fate of Madeleine mcCann. My heart bleeds for that dear unblemished child, torn from the heart of her family. A catholic mother of two daughters myself I cannot even contemplate the pain and anguish of her parents Gerry and Kate.
I truly believe that they saw no wrong in their actions when leaving their babies alone in the apartment. The outcome was a one in a million possibility.
Gerry and Kate are good devout people who love their children,I imagine, more than life itself.
But here is a lesson for every parent. The sunshine and the happy relaxed atmosphere of our holiday destinations do not alter the basic responsibilties of being a parent. When at home would you leave your 3 children under 4, in the house alone, for an evening whilst you visited the local restaurant ? Would you leave them alone in the house for half an hour whist you had a cup of coffee with a neighbour?
If you think it might be ok to go out and leave your toddlers, as long as you check on them every half an hour, can you tell me what you would be checking for?
Would it be to see if they had fallen out of bed, or were being sick, or crying because they were afraid of the dark , or because they just needed to know that you were still there.
If you were in the house with your children you would hear and know these things and be able to respond appropriately.
Gerry and Kate McCann should have been at “home” with their children if only for these basic needs.
Madeleine mc Cann deserved better than to be left in this vunerable position in the bad bad world that we live in.
God help you sweet baby
Felipe says:
That is why I do not believe in GOD.
Where is GOD right now?
Can HE show his strengh over the miserables now?

I cant get this child out of my mind as a mother of four I cant start to think how I would react if this had happened to me. I pray for her safe return to her loving family. The lord is my shepherd.
Pat says:
Is there a god? I am a devout catholic and cannot understand why all our prayers are not being answered if there is a god he must be a very cruel one to put madeleine and her parents through this awful torment. My thoughts are with you Kate and Gerry, I just hope my faith holds out.

It’s no good for people to blame God for what’s happened and that all the prayers haven’t been answered! The one’s who should be blaming themselves, should be the parents, those children shouldn’t have been left by themselves for any reason!! I am truly sorry that the McCanns have lost their daughter, but they should have looked after her better. I watch the news all the time and feel that the parents are the reason for the situation. Not only did they leave their daughter alone but they selfishly left their other chidren alone as well while they went out to eat!!! Haven’t they heard of child minders, as I recall there was a service for baby sitting at the Hotel they were staying at. I pray that Madeliene is found safe and sound, but when that does happen, the parents should still feel entirely to blame!!! And hopefully questions we all have will be answered…..

There are times in the day that have to stand still and think what on earth are you thinking and I almost want to transmit some of my strength to you and your family . As a mother I am sure this is recpricated time and time again with other families feeling the same. I know exactly where you are and having visisted very often Luz I feel sad that such a beautiful place could harbour such tradergy. I feel helpless but tonight I give you some of my strength in hope that you get a little more strength to face another day without your beloved little girl. God help you and bring your baby back where she belongs. I am back in Lagos and Luz in August I will make a point of visiting the church and I hope it is to rejoice and celebrate her comming home God Bless.xxx
