Moon 2
Im not as impressed with this shot as I was with the one a few days back. While down in my Folks house I saw the moon shimmering of some clouds, it was a fantastic view. So in my wisdom I decided to try and get a shot of it. It did not really work out but if anyone can tell me why it would be a great help.

The moon is over-exposed, which is why you’re not getting a very crisp, distinct shape. Here’s a page with a general guideline about shooting the moon (and other things):

Not sure how the manual controls on a G6 are, but it may help out! Also, you could try to take one shot of the moon perfectly exposed and another shot blown out so you can get the clouds, and combine them in photoshop.

I used to have these problems with moon shots as well. Definitely over-exposed; you need to have a very steady tripod and under-expose it if anything. You got the clouds in well, though.

I feel orientalism from this photo.
