My first image to upload to McAWilliams.com since I changed the layout about, heres hoping it works!

This is a photograph taken in Kells on the morning of one of the heaviest frosts I have ever seen in Ireland, thankfully that winter is well and truely behind us now and the weather is looking great for a good summer so far.

Botanical Gardens Greenhouse

Today I attended the Photowalk.ie photowalk in the Botanical Gardens, well the rain came down and the clouds did not leave until we were leaving but I did manage to get a few photos which I am happy with.

This is one from the main greenhouse there, the mist and condensation is what I really love about this photo.

Burren Rocks

Kilkenny Castle Fountain

A photograph taken in the gardens of Kilkenny Castle of the fountain in the middle of the formal rose gardens. This was taken while the sun attempted to burn away the looming raining clouds. The sun did not win in the end.

River Nore Kilkenny

A photograph of the River Nore flowing past Kilkenny Castle, yes the procesing may not be to everyones taste but I dunno it just kinda made me go wow!

Powerscourt Flowers

You gotta love summer, and the great news is that Ireland seems to be enjoying a lot of sunshine of late. With this in mind the gardens in Powerscourt had to be visited.

The flower beds are all looking stunning, but I imagine that another visit before the summer ends will be in order to see everything in bloom.

Ireland’s Eye Puffins

On Sunday I had the pleasure of going to Ireland’s Eye, just of the coast of Howth. The trip was organised by Peter Donegan and a fantastic day was had by all. Many thanks to Peter for organising it and for giving me the opportunity to shoot a bird I had always wanted to photograph out in the wild, the Puffin.

Ireland’s Eye is home to so many different types of Birds and over the next few days I hope to put them up on blog.

I took this picture quite a while ago while out in Howth and have no idea why I never posted it. These seagulls had balls I must say they just stood there holding their ground staring at me, seemed nothing could scare them.

Snowy Grave

Ok I apologise I do like snow a lot, not sure about this photo since snow actually proves to just give you kinda white images and thats it. Anyhow I do some of you enjoy it like yesterdays image.

Hill of Tara Snowy Trees

Another photo I took at the Hill of Tara on my mini photowalk with Sarah Kavanagh, who by the way has started her own photoblog at slkav.com and is well worth checking out, this time looking back from all the burial mounds towards St Patricks Church with its gorgeous trees surrounding it, the snow gave the whole area a very dreamy look, hence the reason I love the snow so much.
