Well I hope everyone had a fantastic St. Patricks day and that the head aint to sore this morning, if it is maybe just maybe this photo will calm it down a bit.

This week on McAWilliams.com I am going all nautical, starting off with this image of a bouy hanging down from the side of a fishing boat.

On Sunday, I was invited to a photowalk with Vodafone as a start to their “Cheer up Ireland” campaign along with 14 other photographers, unfortunately the snow did not show as forecast and instead a thaw had begun from early morning. But we still ended up in Phoenix Park and built a huge snowman and we were certainly cheered up.

This shot was taken from the ferris wheel in Smithfield, looking down on a Luas leaving the tram station.

Its been ages since I did one of these shots and I am loving this one, dunno why I think its the reds which came out lovely from the 40D which is a first for me!

Tomorrow though I hope to put all I have learnt over the past weekend to good use as I shall be on O’Connell Street with 20+ other Pix.ie users snapping like crazy for the Saint Patricks Day parade if I dont know how to use the camera now I am screwed.

I am pleased to announce that tomorrow I gain possession of my new camera, a brand new Canon EOS 40d. To be fair my 350d has done me proud and has really got me more into photography then I thought I could get!

But alas I just cant rely on it anymore as it is acting like a temperamental teenager occasionally taking great shots but more so getting the focus all wrong and just not doing what it used too.

So this will be my last photo from the 350d for a good while now, it was taken again from last years Saint Patricks Day Parade in Bray and is a fantastic vintage ford car.

Hello and welcome to McAWilliams.com the new improved version, but more about that later.

This photograph was taken up on the new bridge which connects Bray with Enniskerry, which opened last week. I am getting home at 7pm ish so I decided to try a traffic zooming by type shot, I think this worked quite well, anyhow onto the main story.

As you may well know, Movabletype 4 proved to be a big headache for me, so much so that I decided to change platform all together and move to Wordpress. I thought it would be easy enough, how mistaken I was the install etc was fantastic and to be fair to the Wordpress programmers they aint lied about the fact it is quite easy. My problem was how I used Moveabletype over the years.

I coded all the templates in Movabletype myself and as such used the default entry page in a strange way, I had also created custom entry fields using a plugin for the likes of meta keywords and descriptions etc, these fields unfortunately did not transfer to the database I had to create for Wordpress, and in the mayhem I lost all the details I had spent years entering.

So with Wordpress I had to start from scratch all that remained from the old site were the entry details and comments but all pictures keywords descriptions for 411 entries had to be re-entered from scratch, hence the delay.

I am using a theme for now but will be modifying this to get some originality back into McAWilliams.com, and what do I think of Wordpress, well as I told Caitriona tonight I aint looking back.

This is starting to sound like a broken record but sorry for the lack of images the past few days, but I have been busy attempting to get a new page design in order.

Anyhow here is my favourite mode of transport (sarcastic) the 145 bus. I spend roughly 12 and a half hours a week on this yolk. This is one of the many buttons to stop the bus when that stop of yours is approaching, also in this picture is, and I cant believe this, another 145. I find this fascinating since there is meant to be a 20 min gap between them.
